My research focuses on the late Archaic cup painter Onesimos, analysing his style, iconography and development. I am also interested in workshop structures, and through stylistic analysis, inscriptions and shapes, am analysing the movement of painters and potters between different workshops. I also aim to analyse trade, and to ascertain whether these workshops in the late Archaic period had specialised trade networks. My research interests also include the history of collecting, particularly the acquisition of antiquities by educational institutions in the 19th and 20th centuries, and Etruscan Italy, especially native pottery production in Etruria, and its relationship with Greek imports.
