The Faculty of Classics provides a culturally vibrant and dynamic research environment for Early Career Researchers in a wide range of fields including Classical Languages and Literature; Ancient History and Classical Archaeology; Classical Archaeology and Ancient History; Classical Reception.
Leveraging Oxford's extensive network of resources, Early Career Researchers in Classics can expand their professional network, gain full membership to one of Oxford's 38 colleges, and achieve scholarly independence during their tenure with the Faculty. Early Career Researchers in Classics are also encouraged to participate in events and seminars and contribute to the broader research community of the Faculty.

We encourage prospective Postdoctoral Fellows to apply by following these steps:
- Check the eligibility for each fellowship by following the provided links. Please do not proceed until you are sure you meet the eligibility requirements.
- Identify and approach a potential mentor within Classics. Please check the faculty profiles to identify a suitable mentor and contact them prior preparing an application.
- Check the deadlines outlined in each on the page for each Fellowship and submit the documents required to the Research Facilitator (ingrid.locatelli@ox.ac.uk), to obtain the Faculty’s Research Committee approval.
