I am highly interested in exploring gender identity within Early Christianity. In particular, I aim to investigate the construction of masculinity within the Syriac and Latin hagiographical traditions and the ramifications that it has for the placement of the “holy man” archetype within the wider socio-cultural environment of the Early Church.
