My project aims to complete the study of a Roman merchant ship, called Ship A, dated to the second half of the 2nd century AD, and found in the Pisa San Rossore archaeological site (Italy). The main objective of this research is reconstructing the hull of the vessel using specific software for shipbuilding, visual hull modelling, and hydrostatic performances, so as to hypothesize the ship’s original structure. Additionally, the study of the cargo transported by Ship A will be completed with the purpose of having a general understanding of the objects loaded on the Roman vessel.
