Giorgia Capra

The question of women's agency in Greek religion, initially neglected, has gained importance in recent years, resulting in an increasing number of scholarly studies, ranging from the analysis of women's role in sacrifice to female priesthoods. My project aims to investigate the role of women as dedicants by analysing inscribed female dedications from various locations across the Greek world, with the ultimate purpose of expanding our knowledge of women's ritual contribution and engagement in the activities of Greek sanctuaries.

My other interests include Greek numismatics, papyrology and digital epigraphy.
