My DPhil project, supervised by Dr Georgy Kantor, sits at the intersection of Roman social and legal history. The thesis explores how people in the early Roman imperial era (31 BCE – ca. 200 CE) responded to crime using unofficial and social means, especially when legal enforcement has failed. Key themes explored include legal thoughts, representation of criminals, practical crime prevention, and common legal consciousness. More broadly speaking, my research spans across various aspects of Roman social history, of which a major interest is how marginalised groups are represented in Graeco-Roman fictions.

Beyond research, I take great pleasure in outreach and making classics more accessible. I have been working as Access Tutor for Classics at Christ Church since 2023, and have taken part in various outreach sessions for the Faculty of Classics, Exeter College and Balliol College.
